These shows are giving people information on the process of fishing and tips that they can use to improve their fishing game, which is a form of marketing for the industry since the show usually highlights some new tool or gadget that is going to make the job even better. It is something that twenty years ago would have been thought to be pointless. Thus, this shows that the popularity of the art of fishing has increased dramatically throughout the years.

This is a far less harsher environment to work in however, they do have their work cut out for them since they are dealing with close quarters and have to watch for disease in these fish.

The leisure section of fishing refers to those that are fishing for fun or for sport. This industry is one that gives the industry lots of marketing since products that are used for fishing are advertised through these people. The main thing about this sector is that since it is used for fun, most people only do this if the weather is permitting. They are not going to be found on the ocean during harsh storms since they are not relying on a paycheck from these actions.

The fishing industry has come a long way since fishing was first started. No longer are people catching one fish at a time, they are using methods to catch thousands of pounds of fish at once, using advanced technology to direct them towards the fish and are making this into a million dollar industry each and every year, as well as introducing many to fishing for the first time.
